Dark stabbing and Jack Bar Stewards I 8

By: Martyn | July 13th, 2008

Despite having the mandatory dislike all Cardiff City fans adopt for our western neighbours, I must admit Swans boss Roberto Martinez is hard to dislike. However, I would rather pluck out every single one of my pubic hairs whilst listening to the entire back catalogue of Coldplay than see the Jacks do well.

Although revulsion for them would never dominate or dictate my footballing life to the extent of some idiots who take it to strange and entirely uncalled for levels of obsession or violence, I would say it’s not just a dislike supposedly inherited by anyone wearing the famous blue shirt, but a dislike personally felt too - borne from several reasons and incidents; Football League Trophy Final celebration shenanigans, past meetings with the teams, and Swansea fans I’ve encountered and engaged in conversation with (though that’s not to say I’ll blanket them all under that generalisation, I just like to see the team lose so the arrogant Swans fans I know, have met and spoken to can’t enjoy any successful feelings on the pitch!) to name the main few.

Similarly, wanting to see them fail is a similar situation to the family you loathe next door: you always want to be better than your neighbour! Wretchedly, such is football, I can see them having a decent season, maybe there or thereabouts with regards to the play-off’s.

On that note, predictions. As the seasons gets closer, I’ll sum up everybody’s chances in this league, and my guess as to where they’ll finish. Stabbing in the dark naturally!
