The pure fire of anger that was burning through me when I read this is slowly starting to turn into the smoke of frustration (excuse my Alan Partridge moments!). Yet again, questions are raised about our ability to close deals (this has been a problem for a few years now, a case with Jody Morris springs to mind), and yet again we’ll be scraping the bottom of the personnel barrel as the summer wears on.
Correspondingly, it means we won’t have the chance to gel a first XI together on the upcoming tour to Portugal, so we’ll be going into another new season with a half-baked idea of everything.
