What exactly is the point of bidding for players we know we have no chance of snaring?! Sure, I’m all for signs and showings of ambition, but Dave Jones even admits as much that the bid for Marlon King was never going to work. Ex-jailbird King, after all, is a man who left a loftier Championship side (Watford) than our own just six months ago for a crack at the Premier League.
Dave… stop trying to steal a lion from the zoo, and get us in a golden retriever ASAP. Actually, better make that two.
In spite of the ineptitude and irrelevance of the bids, this is a better usage of public relations from our much-maligned manager. Detailed and honest communication not laced with fury or sarcasm. More of the same, please.
Another match tonight, and great to hear that 1500 fans are making their way to the game in Portugal. Our away followings are something most clubs can only dream of. Let’s hope a tidy performance is put on for those who have travelled!
