Southgate, what’s the score, Southgate Southgate what’s the score?!!

Yeah, whatever, I know it’s old news and what not, but I’ve been on the mind-blurring hops and am getting all nostalgic. The moment the second goal went in during this game, I remember just jumping about with no care for my welfare or for anything else in the world. Relationships, money, employment, bugger them all! It was one of those experiences that you just know will probably never be topped in your football following life. Especially with me being a Cardiff fan! Shame about the final, but those memories are definitely the ones to brighten the mood on the most dreary of away day defeats!
At this moment in time, I’m also quite enjoying Roxy Music in ways that rise above and beyond ironic, Galaxy Minstrels, my Nintendo 64 and the second goal in this.
The Blues go marching on and on
As for tonight’s 2-2 draw with Burnley…
- So obvious that ex-City guitarist Thommo would score.
- RoJo’s mistake for the goal was hilarious. One of those where it was so bad you have to laugh.
- Great to see Bothroyd on the score sheet at long last!
- And a half-decent point at an in-form team’s ground if truth be told!
In Other News…
A long forgotten Dutch midfielder who could actually have been of some use.
Ciao for now, super Scot.
And Championeeees, Championeeees, ole ole ole!
Another quite random offering.
Having watched several UEFA Cup games this season, a competition we could well have been in had Enckelman not decided to throw the ball at Kanu’s feet, I find it interesting that clubs spend the entirety of one season desperately trying to get into European competition, then when they get into it the following season the fans stay away and the manager rests players! The best example of this was at Bolton Wanderers last season when Gary Megson had an excellent opportunity to guide a very unglamorous club to heights never previously scaled. Instead, they fielded a reserve team away in Lisbon, lost, and missed out on a cushy draw with Glasgow Rangers in the next round. One wonders therefore what exactly the point is of the Premier League (for those of us who don’t follow – i.e. glory support – one of the big 4 sides) other than staying up?
’tis a queer old game, innit.
